Thank you for considering a donation to the GW Department of English.
All gifts made to the department directly benefit our scholarly and pedagogical missions. Donations from alumni and friends have endowed visiting scholar series, provided undergraduate prizes that reward excellence in scholarship and creative writing, and supported research and writing in our graduate program and among our faculty.
Your gifts enable our faculty to travel to conferences and present their research. You help us further our knowledge on topics as diverse as the life of Willa Cather and the world of Shakespeare, while shining new light on African American, postcolonial and medieval literature. And you allow us to bring the excitement of literature and creative writing into the classroom each day.
By mailing your check, made out to the George Washington University and with the name of the department in the memo line, to:

“The opportunity to study abroad was made possible because generous GW donors understand how their commitment to providing the gift of education is what makes students challenge ourselves to think more critically and globally. My scholarship motivated me to achieve my greatest ambitions so that I too can offer a helping hand to another Colonial.”
