Fall 2020 – Creative Nonfiction Workshop

Come and take part in a semester-long creative nonfiction workshop! To apply, you do not need academic qualifications or publications. The class will include some readings of published writings, but will mainly be a roundtable critique of work submitted by class members. There are no fees to participate in the class. Students at Consortium schools (including GWU) are not eligible. This will be a virtual workshop, and there will be no in-class meetings.
Applications must be emailed to [email protected]. In the subject line, type (2020 Workshop). Please submit a brief letter of interest and a sample of your writing: fiction or nonfiction, 12 pt type, no more than 5 pages in length. Please include your name. The deadline for applying is Friday, 28 August 2020.
All applicants will be notified by email of the outcome of their submissions no later than 2 September 2020.
Cutter Wood is the 2020-2021 Jenny McKean Moore Writer-in-Washington at The George Washington University. He is the author of Love and Death in the Sunshine State (Algonquin Books, 2018) and the forthcoming Hazardous Materials (HarperCollins, 2022). His work has been published or is forthcoming in Harper’s Magazine, The Virginia Quarterly Review, Paris Review Daily and others. He is the recipient of fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference.
