Raad Alshammari


Raad Alshammari is a Ph.D. candidate in the English Department at The George Washington University. He works primarily with contemporary literature, and his fields of specialization are Multi-ethnic American literature and Anglophone migrant literature. His academic interests include postcolonial theory, transnationalism, and contextualist narratology. Currently, Raad is working on his dissertation project, which considers temporalities of displacement and epistemologies of time and identity in contemporary narratives of migration. Before coming to GW, he earned his master’s degree in English from Colorado State University (2018) and his bachelor’s degree in English from Aljouf University in Saudi Arabia (2013).
